Under the guidance of Media Management, the Assistant Programmatic Specialist helps lead programmatic buying across any programmatic platform the assigned media team recommends. This role is expected to assist with in-platform audiences development, execution, and optimizations for an effective and strategic campaign. The Assistant Programmatic Specialist will work with various media teams to ensure RTB campaigns are built and run against campaign objectives and KPIs. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail oriented, able to multitask and analytical.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Essential Functions
- Expected to have a general understanding the programmatic space.
- Manages up to the programmatic lead for guidance, task management and priority setting in order to better assist with delivering results-oriented outcomes.
- Stays on the forefront of programmatic trends and looks for opportunity within marketplace, bringing forward proactive ideas and solutions.
- The Assistant Programmatic Specialist must have a Media Strategy Supervisor or above QA all placements before activating a live campaign.
- Helps manage buying and optimization of placements within programmatic platforms. Helps implement best practices for bidding, budget management, and reporting/analytics.
- Works with the programmatic and media leads on a regular basis, including work flow, company policies and professional development in conjunction with Media Management.
- Assists with review, provide input, and takes timely action on campaign results and analytics, demonstrating the effectiveness of the media optimization, and articulating insights based on performance data.
- Supports the programmatic lead with tracking optimizations in campaign performance, enabling clients to understand how we have made a material impact on their media results through optimizations. Takes ownership of initial budget and invoice reconciliation steps of programmatic platforms’ reported impressions.
- Ensures transparency within all media campaigns.
- Provides timely reporting and analysis of campaign performance.
- Manages up to the programmatic and media team’s Supervisor/Director on plan execution, project status, brainstorms and workflow.
- Depending on the client assignment(s), the Assistant Programmatic Specialist may assist in broadcast, programmatic or other specialized areas within the organization.
Other Responsibilities
- Understands and abides by the agency’s business practices, core values, philosophies and understands R&R’s branded process, policies and procedures.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Depending on client, office location or business needs, some travel may be required.
- Will obtain various certifications including The TradeDesk, Facebook and Google within the first year of employment and complete R&R’s internal 101 training program within the first year.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in advertising or related field or equivalent experience.
- Internship or other experience in marketing field preferred.
- Strong oral, written and effective interpersonal communication skills.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets.
