Meet Katie Fisher, our member spotlight and newly elected board member for the 2015-16 term. Katie is a Las Vegas native. Yes, there are a few.
In 2007, while attending college in Southern California, she went to her first live UFC 76 event. This peaked her interest in mixed martial arts (MMA).
Through her college career, she continued to attend and watch the events on pay per view. It only seemed natural to apply to be the UFC fight club manager. Every day on the job is a thrill. She is constantly learning about the sport, athletes, fans, and ever-changing industry landscape.
Katie frequently travels throughout the U.S. and Canada, meeting and becoming friends with athletes and fans from around the world – people she would never meet otherwise.
Katie’s favorite part about her job is helping a fan’s “dreams come true.” The UFC Fight Club is a program designed to distract people from hard trials going on in their life, such as chemo treatments or physical therapy, and give them the VIP treatment at one of the UFC events.
Interesting tidbits about Katie:
- Favorite restaurant is Bar + Bistro in the Arts District
- Hobbies are kickboxing, music festivals, concerts, volunteering, and attempting culinary and craft projects she finds on Pinterest
- Favorite sports team is the Anaheim Ducks and of course, she loves all things UFC
- Besides a staycation, her favorite place to relax is Poipu Beach in Kauai, HI
