Lokelani Higa is an experienced communications professional with a demonstrated history of working in public relations, crisis communications, marketing, journalism, social media and out-of-home advertising. Her diverse skill set includes copywriting, photography, videography, client relations, graphic design, digital marketing/advertising and event planning.
A strong communications professional, Higa has a Bachelor’s Degree focused in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and an Associate of Arts degree from the College of Southern Nevada.
Over the course of her career, she has worked with and serviced notable clients such as The Neon Museum Las Vegas, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Western Governors University Nevada, Smith’s Western Region, Dunkin’ Las Vegas and more, assisting with a variety of public relations and social media needs. She has also previously worked as a freelance journalist for several Southern Nevada print publications.
Currently, Higa serves on the board of directors for the American Marketing Association Las Vegas chapter as the Vice President of Brand Management. For nearly a decade, she provided volunteer work for both the annual Empty Bowl Benefit, which raises funds to support the Las Vegas Catholic Worker, and the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence as an instructor’s assistant.
Outside of her professional work, she is an accomplished commission artist and published photographer. In her spare time she enjoys teaching herself new skills, creating art or taking part in outdoor activities such as hiking or gardening.
